Launch Event
We officially launch Respectance this week (on Friday) at The Next Web Conference in Amsterdam.
It’s kind of a techie venue for us but it’s a good opportunity to show others in the internet field what we’ve been up to. Of course, we’re using the web but Respectance is not about technology or software; it’s just about helping people do something they already do—just via a new channel.
Sharing memories is a universal behavior; especially when celebrating a loved one’s life. With the web, people can now come together wherever they are, whenever it’s convenient for them, and both contribute and participate—and get something back they can keep.
We’re really excited to finally unveil Respectance—and we’ve got some important announcements to make too. The Next Web has a number of high-profile people in the industry both from Europe and North America, including Michael Arrington, Scott Rafer, Jason Calacanis, Marc Canter, Saul Klein, and many more. It’ll be a good chance to get feedback from both entrepreneurial and professional people. We’re hoping they’ll appreciate the work we put into the system and the potential for a service like ours.
We’ve been in stealth mode for the past few weeks, polishing up things, and we’ve got a lot more work to do. We’ve already had some great feedback and made a number of changes. Martha has been in personal touch with many of our users so far; David has already got us into the world’s press; Marcin and his team are roaring full steam ahead and Richard is activated organizing the launch details. It’s finally time to switch from stealth to full-on, blowing our own horn.
