Sad Weekend for Music Fans

DuBrow

I logged into my computer this morning and I was pretty shocked to see that 52-year-old Kevin DuBrow of the 80s band “Quiet Riot” had died. I’ve gotten a lot of feedback today from other users who also had a special place for this band in their hearts. It’s always hard to hear of some one passing that was a part of your growing up. I personally remember quite fondly the beginning of the MTV Era and bands like Quiet Riot were all the fad with their Glam Rock.

Many users contacted me expressing their shock and sadness over his passing. In response, I’ve created a tribute to musician Kevin DuBrow. I invite you to come and leave a memory or share a photo, a story or a video for all of his fans.

Also passing this weekend was guitarist Casey Calvert with the punk group “Hawthorne Heights“. One of his fans made a tribute here in Respectance after hearing about the guitarist’s death from the band’s website. The creator of the tribute shared with me over messages saying, “I grew up in Dayton back when they were still known as ‘A day in the life’ Casey was very talented. A lot of us are really heartbroken about his tragic death”. If you have anything to say about Casey’s life or his talents please leave a memory on his tribute for his fans.

It’s a shame that the music world has to lose two very talented men. I am sure neither of them will be forgotten.

What i remember most about a QR show besides ass kicking metal, is that the boys with Keven always came out to meet the fans.

Have your say
