Rejoicing Maharishi Mahesh Yogi’s Salvation
![]()
Guru Bramha, Guru Vishu,
Guru Devo Maheshwara, Guru sakshaat parabramha,
Tasmaye Shri guruve namah, Om Shri Gurubhyo Namah!
This was the Sanskrit script, an unconditional devotion to the Guru, my mom always recited to me. It means Guru is Brahma, creator of world; Guru is Vishnu, preserver of world; Guru is also Maheshawara, transformer of world. Guru is verily the Supreme Brahman. Guru is anything and everything one can think of. To thy glorious Guru, we salute from the core of our heart.
It’s amazing to see that so many people, not just Hindus, but Westerners are so inspired by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi who introduced transcendentalist meditation to the West. He has enlightened many of us through his powerful words, and made a difference in people’s life by emphasizing the path to spiritual liberation.
I was told that you don’t mourn death of people who have attained Mokshya (salvation), but you rejoice it. I think Maharishi Mahesh Yogi has attained Mokshya, and we should celebrate it.
