New Zealander speaks out.

This was what I received in my e-mail. Ron Durham, a Good Samaritan, wanted me to publish this note to show that Nsers really care and do share Aim Family’s sorrow.

“I live in Auckland, New Zealand. Like many thousands of New Zealanders, I feel so ashamed and sorry that one of my compatriots has snuffed out the life from such a lovely person as Karen. I know the small town and lake of Taupo. It is a lovely spot and is full of nice, gentle people.

I asked myself: How can I try and bring the culprit to justice? I decided to ask the small local (”Wednesday News on Taupo”) newspaper to publish my Letter-to-the-Editor. Copy follows:-

Dear Editor (Wednesday News on Taupo),

“I was shocked at the murder, in Taupo, of the lovely young Scottish woman, Karen Aim. I hope that the Police investigation finally tracks-down the culprit(s). Pleasing to read that the bike, caught on CCTV camera at the crime scene, has been located and will probably yield some useful forensics.
We pride ourselves, in New Zealand, as being a “caring society”; yet not one member of the public appears able or willing to identify a possible suspect. It is very likely that an adult (a family member, a friend or a neighbour?) knows full-well (the youngster?) who was likely to be roaming about, late on that very night. Someone knows! Come on Taupo citizens, do your Civic Duty and dob-in this / these cowardly thug(s). If not, you may well become the next victim!”

I don’t know if it got published or will get published on Taupo, local news, but I decided to share it with all of you. May Karen Aim’s soul rest in peace and justice be prevailed.
